Classes & Workshops with Jonas Westring
From March 10 -15, Jonas Westring will be visiting Tokyo and teaching at Yoga Tree. Based in Thailand, Jonas travels the world teaching Anusara Yoga and Thai Yoga Massage. This is likely to be his sole visit to Japan in 2010. Whether you’ve practiced with Jonas before or not, this is an excellent chance to learn from a master teacher with more than 25 years of experience in yoga. (To read a profile of Jonas, click here.)
We have scheduled the following classes and workshops:
Anusara Yoga class. March 11, 11:00-13:00.

Therapeutics & Hands-on Adjustments. March 12, 15:00-19:00.
This 4-hour workshop will emphasize therapeutic applications that help to address common biomechanical misalignments and injuries. Students will practice a series of hands-on techniques on each other that provide direct feedback and refinement of touch. Yoga teacher and students alike will benefit from getting guidelines and clarity of how to approach bodies that are compromised, injured or simply out-of-balance from stressful daily living.
In English with Japanese translation. Cost: 7,000 yen.

Eye of the Tiger: an Intermediate level Anusara Yoga practice. March 13: 11:30-14:30.
Come join a challenging full-spectrum intermediate level practice that will inspire you to take your yoga to the next level. With playfulness and intelligent sequencing we can break through resistances not only in the body but also in the mind. Supporting each other while discovering some new poses and playing new edges makes this a fun and inspiring time together. Cost: 3,500 yen.

Thai Yoga Bodywork. March 14, 15:00-18:00.
Thai Yoga Bodywork is based on the ancient massage tradition from Thailand. Informed by biomechanics and strong added yoga component, Thai Yoga acts like applied Yoga Therapy. It enhances energy flow; improves flexibility; relaxes the mind; and creates an overall relaxation and balance of the nervous system. This workshop is open to anybody interested in learning the basics of this unique healing art. You will leave refreshed, inspired, informed, energized - and also deeply relaxed and rejuvenated.
